The End of the Year as We Know It

Well its finally time to say goodbye to 2012. This year has been a doozy- full of struggle, crazy highs, dumpiest of dump lows and a whole lot of growth for both myself and DM. I’m so grateful for the experiences and lessons this year has given me and I am TOTALLY pumped for a new beginning. I plan to make the very most of 2013 and am so excited for new personal and professional adventures. In a few short weeks I will finally get to move into my darling cottage and thus begins a whole new chapter in my life. I just have this feeling its going to be incredibly good. Are you feeling hopeful too?

As we start this new year I have just one wish and prayer for the world; LOVE. I wish love for my family, best friends and myself. I wish love for my readers- for those who are old friends, strangers, random acquaintances, clients, and blogger buddies. I wish love for the FedEx guy who always delivers my stuff to the wrong address and for annoying telemarketers who I don’t always treat kindly. I wish love for my ex boyfriend and love for my next boyfriend.
I wish love for my worst enemies.

Love is this guys Life purpose.

Maybe if there was more love there would be a little less violence, poverty and pain and a whole lot more beauty. There would certainly be more pillows and pug kisses. Maybe I’m a dreamer, but I wouldn’t want it any other way.

Happy Labor Day Weekend!

Well, just about 8 more hours of work and then I plan to kick back and enjoy three days off! Wishing you all a fabulous Labor Day weekend. Whether you are traveling to exotic places, cooking out in the back yard, swimming in fancy infinity pools, or sitting in empty baby pools, I hope you are safe, happy and healthy.

photo shootin

Today is the Traditional Home shoot! I’m gettin my makeup on and my hair did for my portrait. Cameras in my general direction make me nervous so I’m just hoping not to look awkward. Then I get to watch Mona’s project be styled and photographed. Hello, Fun Day. Maybe I can squeeze in a sneak peek or two on Twitter? Not sure- don’t know the rules yet. But you know I’ll try for you guys.

And since I can’t leave you picture-less, Bailey says hey. Remember my blown up Bailey photography in my loft? Well this pic is from that same photo shoot. I do love Kinkos; $4 and you can supersize any image.

Pug Love

I’m absolutely smitten with this little pug statue in Lauren Santo Domingo’s home. I love the grouping of tables and Mr Pug fits nicely into the mix. Reminds me a little of the table I posted way back here. These pics come from a Coveteur spread on her home. Have you seen it? It’s gooood.

And while we are on the topic of cute pooches, I just HAD to show this outtake from my photoshoot with Courtney Apple. This image is rough and hasn’t been re-touched (not a reflection of her skills) but I just found Bailey’s little face adorable.

Am I holding his chin up? You bet your bottom dollar. Boyfriend doesn’t know how to properly pose for a picture.

the countdown and the cape

Guys, I apologize about the sporadic and sub-par postings. I’ve been busting my butt to get design work done, finish up my place for my photo shoot next week and maintain some kind of healthy work-life balance. While a beautiful interior fills me with much joy and glee, I absolutely must have ME time too, to feel complete. Taking that time out to do yoga, or cook a healthy meal, or watch Pretty Little Liars Halloween special (tehe), is essential for me to maintain my happiness. And happy Naomi = Better Designer Naomi.

Bailey is rip roaring excited for the shoot next week. Can’t you tell? Oh and his little cape? Still need to sew that into a pillow. SO many little things left to do. Why is it that the little things can be the hardest to finish?
