Words to Live By

A dear friend of mine copied a page out of a book for me and I found it this morning while making my coffee.  It seems particularly appropriate right now, so I thought I would share.  The first time I read it, I actually felt more stressed out, as there were so many things I wasn’t doing right.  But the more and more I read, the more I love it.  And maybe, just maybe, one of these days I’ll make it to bed at 9pm.

Is there a woman alive who doesn’t suffer from stress?  If there is, seek her out, ask her to share her wisdom.  When you find her, I’d be willing to bet she’ll offer the following suggestions:

For more on that topic read The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin. I read it w/ a highlighter at hand. My kids are mostly grown so I’ve learned a lot of these things along the way, but I highly recommend it for women just starting on life’s journey.

Thanks, Patty. I’ll definitely check it out.

I can’t tell you how much I needed to read this! It’s so simply brilliant…and reminders that I really do need to let more go and hold on to what’s important. The hour of solitude is pretty much impossible, but I would settle for 5 minutes, hey, set attainable goals, right??? (c; Thanks for the slice of wisdom today.

What a strange coincidence, I just picked up my old copy of this book today and read the daily meditation. The last time I had was over a year ago and here you are talking about it! If you haven’t owned the book it’s very clever, you only read a few paragraphs a day that corresponds to what the date is. Love your blog by the way!

      Great coincidence, Shannon!
