Oh hello, I just had to pop up from the infirmary to share that flamingos are haunting me. First, I spy a single pillow teasing me in a pattern-happy room. There’s lots going on here: color, pattern, metal, tufting … and the flamingo is just the cherry on top of this maximalist cracked-out sundae. Then I see a simpler, colorful space with 3 flamingo pillows taking center stage. It seems sometimes flamingos join the party, and sometimes they ARE the party.
Made me think of this image I liked so much last year…
Is this a coincidence? Or is a crazy flamingo craze about to hit the mean streets of interior design?
For the record, I’m on board.
I’m also about 80% healed. So hopefully I’ll be back realz soon.

I think you might be onto something. Have you seen the flamingo print frame combo done by Lindsay at Aubrey & Lindsay? http://aubreyandlindsay.blogspot.com/2011/05/ikea-frame-hack-inspired-by-sarah.html
I am SOOOO with you- I want me some flamingo pillows is a LARGE way. Glad to hear your feeling better!!! xo
So funny, I just talked myself out of an awesome flamingo t shirt… I knew I should have sprung for it.
Love all these rooms. The top one is like a where’s waldo? game.
In six months time we will be recalling how you singlehandedly predicted the flamingo onslaught. I’m in…these are all fantastic!
p.s.- and most importantly, I’m thrilled to hear you are feeling better!!!
I’m *so* glad you are on the mend…we miss you here in bloggyland! (c: And I am totally posting that pic from Irene today as well, because it is *AWESOME*. I *audibly* gasped when I saw it. I’m with you, those little pink buggers have me on board (c:
I love those – 1st and 3rd. Jolted my memory of 2 vintage flamingo paintings that I have stashed that might find a home at Casa Blanca if the colors are right!
The last picture is one of my favorite’s too! I love the gilded frame with the white walls.
I have been thinking about you and am glad to hear you are starting to feel better. I had to have my tonsils and adnoids out at an adult age and it’s NO fun. So rest!
I’ve been seeing flamingos every where too!! That last image is my favorite!! Rest up – hope you’re feeling better!!
Glad the flamingos are helping you feel better. These are cranes I think but I have always loved this image!

I’ve always been a huge fan of flamingos! And zebra print. And flamingo pink with zebra print!! I’m in, too! Hope you are 110% real soon!!!
Glad to hear that you are feeling better!
Not sure if flamingos are a cyclical in the interior design world but they are definitely a home decor, pop icon on their own. It’s about time someone had the idea to bring them in from the lawn onto your pillow.
Hi, Mierowl!
No I hadn’t seen her print, but thanks for letting me know. It’s adorable.
I don’t know if it’s just me, but I tend to think people resemble animals. My husband looks like a bird and he says I look like a flamingo??? I think it’s hilarious and have since loved the pink feathered creature.
Love that they’re chic and no longer considered tacky. Although I would gladly take some hot pink plastic ones for fun.
Happy you’re feeling better! Now get back to blogging regularly pretty please
I’m totally on board! feel better soon!
I saw the 2nd image on pinterest recently and fell in love with it so yes I am on board with the flamingo but please don’t stick one in my yard! Glad you feel better!
I’m totally on board! I think I even downloaded a flamingo on my computer (somewhere) to have blown up a la Bunny Williams! Glad you’re on the mend!!
Yay! So happy to get a little something.
You’re so right, flamingos are everywhere. And you know I love them. At the zoo on Sunday we were actually surprised at how CORAL they are, not as hot pink as they are often portrayed. Beautiful, odd animal.
I’ve always loved that last image. Something about it…
