Pattern Play- Orange

This morning I was looking for an orange fabric to pair with a large multi-color print I’m working with.  Orange is one of those colors that I was SO into a few years back and I have kinda forgotten about it since then.  While I didn’t find anything that was quite right for my project, I did find a few orange patterns that I fell in love with all over again.  I think these fabrics would make such a vibrant addition to any room.  What do you think, do any of these give you an orange crush?

Row 1-

Bleecker/Schumacher, California/GP&J Baker,  Marginy/Osborne & Little,

Row 2-

Jali/Jim Thompson, Point Proven/Robert Allen, Santosh (paisley)/Jim Thompson, Sierra (stripe)/Manuel Canovas

Row 3-

Khajiar/Jim Thompson, Artist Palette/Rodolph, Burnished Reeds/Jim Thompson, Soho/Calico Corners, Zulu/Katherine Rally

Row 4-

Ajmir/Manuel Canovas, Phulkari/Jim Thompson

PS- I’m obsessed with “Artist Palette” from Rodolph!  It’s like a watercolor dream.

  1. Artist Palette is the one that jumped out at me for sure! Love. Okay I’m totally in the process of banishing orange from my family room, but perhaps to hastily?

    Happy Monday!

  2. Erin

My high school colors were orange and white (Texas, what can I say?) so I’ve avoided orange for years… still, I can get behind a nice persimmon or apricot. Mmm hmmmm.

  3. I can’t believe how into orange I’ve been lately! It was always one of those colors I thought I would never like. But I like that it can go any season, depending on how you pair it, right? Love the Celerie Kemble fabric of course, and the multi-colored squares one, and the suzani.

  4. Kim

I love them all … I am an orange girl through and through. It is such a happy color and these fabrics show how sophisticated it can be as well!

  5. As much as I love orange in other people’s homes, I’ve never had much in my own place. Loving the Zulu and Marginy fabrics.

    The Aestate

  6. Yeah, orange is typically like the neglected middle child. Before you know it, orange is going to be the new pink.

I love all of row two. Specifically that paisley one.

  7. Orange has been my tried-and-true fave since I requested an orange bedroom at the ripe old age of 4. (Isn’t it awesome that my mom obliged?). So yes, LOVING these!

  8. I have loved and will forever have a torrid love affair with orange (c; Strangely enough, I find it to be a surprisingly versatile color…it can be so lovely and bright (but not quite so overwhelming as yellow can be), but can be almost a neutral (I said *almost* okay!) in it’s darker counterparts…BIG, BIG FAN (c: I know that Schumacher geometric has been around, but I’m still totally in love with it

  9. Interestingly enough I fell off of orange too. I was totally over the top about it a few years ago and then it just faded for me. I remember working with the O&L pattern which I adore. I may need to consider showing some new love for orange again!

  10. My orange affair ended in high school, but you may have just convinced me to revisit!

  12. love to wear orange but only have it in my daughter’s room in my house. i do love all these fabrics though, especially the artist’s palette!

  13. nelya

I need some Marginy, Artist Palette, and a sprinkling of Zulu in my life!

  14. I’ve never been too into orange, but I got my first pedicure in MONTHS and am sporting neon orange on my toes!

Am new to the Philly area and would love any tips about where you find low cost upholstery (are there any outlets, etc.)? Thanks!
