Pattern Play- Jewel Tones and Off-white backgrounds

This Martin Lawrence Bullard embroidery is so fabulous.  For whatever reason, I don’t use green very often, but I love how it mixes with blues and pink and creams in this fabric.  One slightly challenging aspect to pairing it is the off-white background.  Nothing irks me more than pattern pairings where the backgrounds mix bright white and off-white.  All of the fabrics featured here are more off-white and really blend splendidly.

I’m really having a jewel-tone love affair these days!  Oh, and I think I may need to incorporate more green into my work…

ps- do you guys like it when I list sources?  I’m feeling lazy.  If you like one, just ask me in the comments and I”ll give the deets.

I would love to know what the pink fabric is, and if it’s available to everyone, or only the trade! Thanks in advance.

I typically shy away from green as well but seeing it hear has me wanting to add it! Love the way all of these look together.

  3. @Emily the pink geometric is Brunschwig & Fils Diamond Lattice (BR-89739-132)
Nearly all of the fabrics I deal with are to the trade. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t available at the retail level as well! There are online stores that sell designer fabrics, or you can go through a decorator…

    Thanks Naomi!

  5. I love the pattern combos you have been sharing lately. Very inspiring!

Glad to hear you’re discovering the joy of green. It is one of my favourite colours. Love it with pink, blue, yellow. I know what you mean about bright white vs. off-white, always throws things off. Your fabrics look great together!

  7. Each fabric has a unique design, which are all pretty for me. I am really fascinated with fabrics that have an unusual or unique design.
