Jamie Drake’s Kitchen

Holy kitchen Porn.

That’s a gold leaf island and corian countertop.

Is Corian back, baby?

The incorporation of gold is just amazing, love!

I am a Corian ho. Incredible what you can do with it!

  3. Wow. No words. I need that much gold in my life.

  4. I was about to write, “Are you positive this is a kitchen? Looks like a (really elaborate) living room bar to me.” But just to make sure I hadn’t missed a dishwasher or refrigerator hiding in the cabinetry (I definitely don’t see a stove, and I’m pretty sure stove = kitchen, but I wanted to make sure), I hit the AD page, and don’t I feel vindicated: “What I really wanted was for the kitchen to be a very glamorous wet bar.” I guess if you don’t make your bloody Mary mix from scratch, you don’t need a stove, then – but my life would be an endless sad if I only ever ate restaurant food. There’s nothing like a home-cooked meal, really (especially if somebody else cooks it – but still true if you’re the cook). So while there is clearly a fully-realized vision here, which I admire, I am not going to give up on the “form follows function” standard for kitchens, starting with: YOU NEED A STOVE.

Yes, I agree, this particular kitchen is not practical at all. But stylistically, it provides a lot of inspiration- black cabinets, shapely island, gold. etc.

  5. It almost looks like the counter swivels… surely not?

Pretty amazing. Makes me want to knock out a bunch of walls and get crazy with color.

  6. soooooooo beautiful!!!! I love how kitchens are becoming sleeker and more designed…and they are really being incorporated into the home.
