It’s not You, it’s Me. No, it’s the Internet.

Hey guys.  I’m sorry for the radio silence, but the concise version of the story is that I’m burnt out.  We all juggle a lot of things in this world and I’m not going to give you my sob story about how my life is hard right now.  Instead I’m going to take care of myself.  I’m going to do my work, survive the holidays, plug along on the cottage and stay the f*ck off the internet because I feel like its sucking the life out of me.  So expect spotty posting from me for the remainder of 2012.  I will still share some cottage talk ideas, but for the most part I am giving myself a blog break.  2013 is going to be an awesome year- personally, professionally, blogging- I know it.  So thanks for following and continuing to support me even when I just need to go be a normal human and connect with things other than a computer screen.

Oh and You can still find me Instagram (Design Manifest)and Facebook because Lord knows I could never give up my iPhone.

(What I was doing yesterday afternoon.)

I’ve been on a blog break/unplugging of sorts and it’s been wonderful. Good luck with your projects. I always tell myself it all get done at some point, right?

For me, reading blogs like yours is a brief escape from my stress as a mom. I take them just about every day. You are certainly due a break as well. Hope you can get more of whatever helps you decompress!

  9. You’re smart to call a time out for yourself. We’ll all happily take what you’re willing to give, but none of us wants it to be at your expense. (Am I right, fellow fans?) Good luck with this crazy time of year – I don’t know what it is about this year, but the season is feeling more overwhelming and emotional than other years. I hope you get the rest and recuperation you deserve. Happy end of 2012! xoxo

  10. I SO feel you. Blog post ideas are dried up and not working on any personal projects until post holiday. See you on instagram, lady! Take care. xo

  11. We all need a break sometimes, we’re of no use to anyone if we don’t take care of ourselves :)

You must follow your instincts. If you don’t tend to yourself, you won’t have anything to offer your faithful followers. I subscribe to your blog via RSS feed. When you post again, I’ll know, and I’ll be glad to hear from you. In the meantime, I’ll miss you, but know you are nurturing yourself, as you must do. Merry Christmas!

Good idea. Take care o’ your sweet self.

    much love-n.

  15. So weird. Lately I have been feeling the exact same way. I feel like a robot- like I am plugged in all the time. I am concerned that the internet is depleting me of original thoughts and ideas. It’s kind of freaking me out. I have resolved to unplug once I wrap some projects. Enjoy your time away. I am sure it will be refreshing. Happy holidays.

Hi Naomi – hope you are able to recharge soon! Do you have any recommended/favorite sources for not-too-expensive curtains/drapes?

  18. I think as a designer people have no clue as to what goes in to what we do. There are so many small details, running around and schlepping it is exhausting. Add the holidays, the client deadlines and you have burnt out. Enjoy your holidays, and recharge, we all need that break and it is being smart to know you need to take it.
Love the Kelly Wearstler snake skin on the ottoman, looks a bit leathery to made up, gorgeous.
