is this not the most wonderful kitchen island ever?

Hey guys.  I’m not really here today.  Laptop is still at the doctors because the motherboard died.  Isn’t that just the saddest terminology ever?  Anyway, all my pictures and programs are on it and I’m stuck with the dinosaur desktop computer, so I’m going out shopping for clients instead.  I just need like two cups of coffee first and a handful of Trader Joe’s peanut butter cups to motivate.  (Any one else obsessed with those?)

While I was searching for some inspiration images I saved for a current dining room design, I stumbled across this kitchen.  I just love love love how the island looks like a hunka-old table chest of some sort.  The chairs, the light, the vibe… oh I could move right in.  Note the lack of wall cabinets and hutch to the right for dishes.  YES.

At first glance, I thought it was an office. It’s beautiful, but it’s not what I would want (although that window is stunning). I wouldn’t turn it down, though!

  8. I seriously think upper kitchen cabinets should be banned. I did not put any in my kitchen 20 years ago and have never regretted it!!!
