This may be TMI, but I took my first bath last night. I wish I could claim it was life changing, but the tub was only 2/3 full and the water was lukewarm at best. (Gotta turn up that water heater!) Nonetheless, as I lay there sipping on wine, listening to a mix and staring at my fine fine tile job, I couldn’t help but feel a huge sense of accomplishment.
This bathroom used to be a crowded, dark, bleh space. And then my father and I teamed up and transformed it into this bright, warm, functional funky perfect oasis. I seriously love my 5×8 bathroom. Storage is good (more on that soon) the shower is fantastic and the details are really coming together. It’s not quite done yet, but here are just some bits that I have been enjoying day to day.

You owe yourself a proud moment! The bath looks fabulous!!

After viewing your space, it’s no wonder you’re in Heaven. Love the detail on the shower curtain.
If I didn’t live with my husband, I’d have a cute rug on my bathroom floor also. But you know how men can mess up a bathroom floor.
Love what you’ve done with it. Love the rug! Where is it from? Thanks
Thanks, Kate- the bathroom rug is vintage and I found it on Ebay.
Love all the details you chose. Congrats lady. So fun to accomplish things around the house.
It is just lovely. A perfect place to decompress with a bath!
Sounds like the perfect way to celebrate a bathroom remodel!! Beautiful! and the rug is precious!
Definitely not TMI
…and you should feel accomplished, the space is beautiful and the details are gorgeous. I love that they get the chance to stand out and show off their beauty. You’ve done an amazing job and a little suds for yourself to relax and enjoy it, is a must!
fantastic work. and yes, turn up the hot water. i forced my husband to do that against his will. nothing worse than a lukewarm bath.
yea it was pretty lame but I tried to convince myself it was still amazing.
wonderful. the tile is fantastic and the addition of the rug is the best. donna
I can’t even tell you how much I love this little jewel box of a bathroom. I am dying to chisel out a window in our shower, mostly because of you.
Great job!
It’s so pretty. Baths are my fave (maybe tmi as well?). Soak it all in girl (literally and figuratively). You deserve to enjoy it.
Hahaha Thanks Tiffany!
Wonderful! I love your blog– can I ask- what color did you paint the walls?
(I just retiled my bathroom with black and white tiles, and painted the walls a very light pink but it’s feeling very…. 50s? motel? I think need to change it)
Its not totally finished yet but your bathroom looks so so lovely Naomi! The shower curtain really compliment with the tiles and flooring
It looks amazing – love the grout color you chose and the basket under the sink is a wonderful touch!!
I adore it. CoNgRaTuLaTiOnS, you are awesome.
Love the bathroom! We are planning our bath renovation. Same layout and size as your new bath. Would you share the tub and sink you chose? Thanks!
Will share a full post soon!
Wow!! I had my doubts when I saw that dark grey grout in the earlier posts, but kudos to you — it all came together beautifully, so I know you must have had the vision from the get-go. The shower curtains pull it all together sooooo fabulously. Enjoy!
hi,
love your tile selection and the console sink. Would love to know where you found them PLEASE.
You should absolutely feel accomplished, and proud of the design. It looks amazing. EXACTLY what I would do (so you know, I’m a tad biased)
ag
oooo, I’m in love with the basket, would you share the source?
It’s from Pier 1!
Thanks! I always forget about them, but they really do have great stuff.
bathroom looks great, that rug is so pretty in the space. You should be so proud and i am really kind of loving that neutral living room too.
it’s lovely – the perfect classic/bohemian bath:-) i really love how the weave in the actual basket picks up on the basketweave of the tile. i’m curious whether the walls are pinker in real life than they appear in these photographs?
It’s perfect! The basketweave flooring is amazing and I LOVE the beautiful rug on top (and the fact that it isn’t a bath mat). Great job!

Hi Naomi!
Love your new cottage! It’s looking great! And, your bathroom looks dreamy – the rug, basket, tile, etc.. I also love your shower curtain and I’m curious – is it a shower curtain or is it a curtain panel? Actually, it looks like it’s two curtains – am I right? I’ve been reading about doubling up for a fuller look, which I love. Just curious what you did here. Thanks….
It’s two curtain panels and there is a liner behind it. I’m planning a full detailed post as soon as the room is done!
I LOVE your bathroom (and your whole house for that matter)! I have had so much fun watching it come together – thank you! xx
Your bathroom is incredible. I just adore what you’ve done with it!!
I love it. The colors in your rug are perfection. Great job!
SO. GOOD. Seriously, I can’t believe the before and the after (said it before, will say it again!)
You are my sHero, Naomi. I have two baths to reno in an 1896 Victorian and your work is very inspirational. Thank you! Never TMI.
I love the rug you have and have been sourcing Ebay and other places to no avail. I know you got it on Ebay via Turkey. Could you perhaps provide the store name?
Also did you use a particular supplier for your tile?
Just lovely!
Love it! Just curious.. did you hang the curtains close to the ceiling or more like “regular” shower curtains?
they are 84″ curtains and most standard shower curtains are 72″, so yes they are closer to the ceiling.
I’m loving your bathroom! We are starting a major renovation of the 2nd floor of our house later this month and will be gutting our kids’ bathroom as well. I want to install white subway with dark grout just as you did here. How do you feel about it now that it is done? How is it to clean the dark grout? I would think that the dark grout would hide stains but wasn’t sure if there are any special precautions to take when cleaning. Afterall, it will be in my kids’ bathroom!
I love the dark grout. There are no special cleaning precautions that I know of.
I am *dying* over your sink. Can you share details? Can’t wait to see the full ‘after’ post!
It looks fantastic!! What is that style of sink called ?
It’s a metal sink console. By Porcher.
